"One thing she already knew about life: you can't eat grits without salt."
From Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens
Here are some things I know about life.
- You can't get through it without breathing.
- It's going to hurt sometimes.
- Sitting at the edge of the ocean will always make anything better.
- Long days and short nights beat short days and long nights.
- The world is full of secret loves.
- Scars on skin tell a story.
- Someone has to be the glue in a family.
- Babies are hope incarnate.
- It's not a sin to question everything.
- If you listen, you will hear the truth.
- Time can work for you or against you.
- Most people are doing they best they can at any given time.
- Be careful what you wish for.
- Memories can tell lies.
- It's okay to be who you are. I learned that one from a five year old.
- Airports are made for people watching.
- Everyone has a story.
- You will always lose in a fight with reality.
- Glitter, not guns.
- People like it when you remember.
- Life goes on. That's right. Until it doesn't.
- We're all just walking each other home. (courtesy of Ram Dass)
- Storms don't last forever.
- You can't lose if you shower the people you love with love.
- Nothing you want matters as much as you think it does.
- Some days you just have to create your own sunshine.
